Digital Media at AFTRS offers the following POSTGRADUATE courses specifically for VFX artists and 3D animators and:
- GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN VISUAL EFFECTS
Consolidate your visual effects experience and direct your knowledge and skills towards a complete, on-set studio collaboration.
This course teaches you to analyse and breakdown scripts, and to
plan and execute visual effects shoots. You will engage in a series
of compositing and on set exercises and you will take part in an
on-set studio workshop that covers cinematography principles,
on-set protocols, techniques for shooting and lighting, use of
blue/green screens and a wide range of visual effects theory.

- GRADUATE CERTICATE IN 3D ANIMATION
Develop your professional skills as a digital artist & develop your ability to convey character and tell stories.
Acquire a thorough grounding in the art of 3D animation using AutoDesk Maya software where you will have an opportunity to work individually and collaboratively as part of a creative team, on an 'industry brief. This course provides production-focused learning and covers areas including character animation, lighting, previsualisation, storyboarding & digital production and animation antecedents.

- MASTER OF SCREEN ARTS
Explore and develop your own creative process and
voice
An in-depth conceptual and practically focused course that will
help you achieve mastery in your chosen area of
specialisation. You will be supported to map out your own
path in what is an increasingly competitive marketplace
collaborating with others to achieve a distinctive
work whilst exploring the relevant theories of filmmaking.
You will be expected to develop and make an individual work or work
collaboratively on a joint project.
