The Screen Music department at AFTRS offers the following POSTGRADUATE courses, specifically for screen musicians:
- GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN SCREEN MUSIC
Your musical compositions can tell stories
on-screen.
If you are a talented composer interested in learning how to
compose music integral to stories being told on-screen, this course
will allow you to explore the functions and role of screen music.
You will complete practical exercises in constructing scores for fi
lm, TV and interactive media, and address both the creation of the
world of the story and the drama of storytelling.

- GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN SCREEN MUSIC
Direct your voice towards composing music for stories on
screen.
Working collaboratively with students from other specialisations,
you will develop skills to work in a team environment where music
plays an important role in both the creation of the world of the
story and the drama of storytelling. You will be provided with
advanced training and opportunities that will teach you how to
write and produce effective music specifically for the moving
image. You will be taught to manage the challenges, work-flows and
collaborative relationships to construct scores for stories in
films, games and television.

- MASTER OF SCREEN ARTS
Explore and develop your own creative process and
voice
An in-depth conceptual and practically focused course that will
help you achieve mastery in your chosen area of
specialisation. You will be supported to map out your own
path in what is an increasingly competitive marketplace
collaborating with others to achieve a distinctive
work whilst exploring the relevant theories of filmmaking.
You will be expected to develop and make an individual work or work
collaboratively on a joint project.
