The Sound department at AFTRS offers the following POSTGRADUATE courses specifically for people interested in a career in sound:
- GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN SCREEN SOUND
Learn to tell stories on-screen through location recording & sound post production.
This course investigates core sound knowledge, through two streams: Location Recording and Sound Post- Production. In Location Recording, as a key member of the production crew, you will develop skills and techniques that ensure the action can be heard from both 'Location' and 'Studio' shoots. Sound Post Production combines sound design, sound editing, sound mixing and recording to allow you to create and enhance the sound experience that will reveal story and captivate audiences. You will examine technological, aesthetic and historic aspects of screen sound post-production or location recording as part of a collaborative team producing engaging and immersive visual stories.

- MASTER OF SCREEN ARTS
Explore and develop your own creative process and
voice
An in-depth conceptual and practically focused course that will
help you achieve mastery in your chosen area of
specialisation. You will be supported to map out your own
path in what is an increasingly competitive marketplace
collaborating with others to achieve a distinctive
work whilst exploring the relevant theories of filmmaking.
You will be expected to develop and make an individual work or work
collaboratively on a joint project.
