AFTRS is seeking to fund daring and adventurous submissions for the awarding of the Creative Fellowship, for emerging or experienced practitioners and for the support of creatively innovative work.
In 2013, AFTRS is seeking exciting, adventurous and innovative ideas and scripts for short films.
So if you...
- are an Australian citizen aged over 18 years
- have experience as a visual artist, filmmaker,
screenwriter or director
- have a creative portfolio of substance
- have an exciting and ambitious project ready to begin
- no current AFTRS students are eligible to apply
YOU COULD BE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR THE AFTRS CREATIVE
FELLOWSHIP of $50,000.
Designed to advance the work of creative voices in the screen arts and creative sector, AFTRS has designed a Fellowship that will provide funding for a talented individual with a short film script or treatment.
Applicants will be required to submit a a short film proposal that is adventurous in its aims, bold in its ambition, and innovative in its execution.
The applicant must be seeking to learn something new in the process.
The Fellowship is open to practitioners from a diverse range of creative backgrounds including, but not limited to, visual artists, filmmakers, screenwriters and directors, but it must be a short film proposal, in script or treatment form.
Potential applicants are required to submit the following:
- An outline of the proposed project that includes a clear understanding of the idea for the project
- A creative portfolio
- A proposed budget, including an outline of how the Fellowship will advance the project
- A proposed timeline for completion of the project
- A statement of how the project meets the brief
Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an interview and to present examples of their work and speak to their project.
Terms and Conditions:
Specific details will be finalised with the successful applicant, however generally:
- The successful applicant will maintain copyright in the finished work with suitable acknowledgment given to the Australian Film Television and Radio School
- The nature of the delivered work, and the timetable for delivery, will be by negotiation
Successful applicants will be required to deliver a report to AFTRS on completion of the project describing:
- Creative process and outcome
- How the funds were spent in the pursuit of the agreed goals
- Response to the film
The successful applicant must commence work this financial year.
