  • Adam Blaiklock (Directing 1998 ) as director & co-writer sees his feature debut Caught Inside included at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival and reelased theatrically in Australia
  • Daniel Nettheim (Directing 1995)  Psychological thriller The Hunter starring Willem, Dafoe  is released theatrically and picks up a number of awards for AFTRS alumnus Daniel Nettheim
  • Kriv Stenders (Cinematography 1989)  latest feature Red Dog commences in cinemas August 2011 and went on to top box office records
  • Ivan Sen (Directing 1998) sees his latest feature Toomelah screen as part of the Un Certain Regard program at Cannes in May 2011 and was

  • Beck Cole (Documentary 2002) sees her debut feature Here I Am premier at the Adelaide Film Festival to a standing ovation on opening night.
  • Amy Gebhardt (Directing 2006)  selected by iconic filmmaker Dr George Miller as his mentee as part of Screen Australia's You Tube project Map My Summer. The final result will premiere at the Sydney Film Festival in June 2011.

John Winter's latest feature - the at times provocative & confronting, sometimes tender and poignant Black & White & Sex - drew heavily on the talents and craftsmanship of AFTRS graduates with the following AFTRS alumni working in key creative roles

JUCY: LOUISE ALSTON & STEPHEN VAGG

 

 

Released theatrically in Australia in November 2011 Jucy - a 'womantic comedy', the girl equivalent of a bromance - is the latest feature from AFTRS graduates Louise Alston (Producing 2000) and Stephen Vagg (Screenwriting 2001). Having picked up numerous awards on the festival circuit including: Toronto International Film Festival, Brisbane International Film festival, London Australian Film Festival, Seattle International Film Festival, International Festival for Women Seoul and the Australian Film Festival, Jucy has also garnered reviews that describe the genre comedy as: "Uplifting and entertaining and real" Urban Cinefile and "…wonderfully authentic, with engaging central performances and a keenly observed script…" Canberra Times.
