The current and future television industry training needs will be revealed in a new research project announced by AFTRS (Australian Film, Television and Radio School) CEO Sandra Levy today.
"AFTRS is renowned in Australia as the leading educational institution for the film industry but our work in television is less well known and, arguably, less well developed. This is a priority area for the School and we want key figures in the television industry to help shape our development. This study is their opportunity," Ms Levy says.
AFTRS has commissioned broadcasting professionals Denise Eriksen and David Brown to conduct face -to- face interviews with leading TV producers and Network executives for the study. Industry practitioners will be encouraged to take part Online through the research study questionnaire at www.aftrs.edu.au
This study, which will take three months to complete, will deliver recommendations to AFTRS on potential directions to meet requirements of factual and entertainment television content on all platforms now and in the future.
As part of the process, the television industry will also be briefed on what AFTRS currently offers.
